Sartorial Prague Black Tie evening
Everyone who loves to dress up struggles with enough opportunities to actually have real reason to dress up nicely except his own pleasure. Solution appears to be quite straightforward. Come up with your own ideas for such events. But if you are alone that don’t usually work. Or does it?
Luckily, no one is alone and whatever your interests are you may find other people with same point of view. Same as czech group of a few people who loves tailoring. Hence Sartorial Prague while being backed by The Owners on this one, came up with Creative black tie evening. And I consider this my moral and professional duty to inform everyone interested about this unique event.
First of all, I have to say, every time I participate on Sartorial Prague gathering there are very kind and humble people. Despite everyone having a bit of a different style, everyone is interested to go through their outfits, preferences or/and opinions. So the discussion is very fruitful.
Secondly, this event was one of the best I attended in last year or so. It was pleasure not only for eyes but also for soul, to see so many people to dress up to respect others and also to express their passion for tailoring. It’s been a while (maybe a longer while) I looked forward for something that much and I am glad everything turned out well. It shows me how I missed it and so I now hope we manage to plan these gathering more often.
I met Michal, father and best dressed men in Prague and also probably in 500km radius around it, Petr (Or Lenny as I like to call him because his fairly original instagram name) and David, enthusiasts and also members of international Sartorial club being part of its Firenze or London parties, Marek - czech preppy guru and also one of the most knowledgable persons when it comes to shoes. And of course many more!
It was really great opportunity to have guys at one place so we could all discuss our points on menswear, what are trends in the world nowadays and how we are going to ignore them and focus on sartorial field of menswear. Funny stuff as usually.
I was also unspeakably pleased, that classic tailoring is not dead, and some bold combinations that we witnessed during this evening are only confirmation of that. In short, evening wear, dinner jackets, tuxedos or smokings, whatever expression is your favourite, is still one of the most beautiful pieces of clothes one can wear.
My favourites certainly are - Very bold checked dinner jacket worn by Matěj, White jacket we all crave for worn by Michal and somehow I really love a cut and style of a navy double-breasted dinner jacket worn by Petr. Below you will find photos of all three.
What an average reader could gain from this article? That it’s so much fun just to dress nicely once in a while and thanks to it getting to know more interesting people.
And since I started this post with words that a lot of people would love to wear something nice but there is problem to where, I am already to thinking to get together some post with inspiration for places and/or occasions.
So I genuinely hope that we will repeat a similar event quite soon and can’t express enough my excitement.
Thank you, ladies & gentlemen for the evening!
