Jo Malone x Huntsman

Jo Malone x Huntsman Whisky & Cedarwood cologne | Massimo Dutti olive wool jacket and black brogue boots | Barbour red lambswool sweater | John & Paul checked Escorial wool scarf, shirt and pocket square

When was the last time someone complimented your fragrance? Well, to me, this did not happen much. And even if this may sound like a cliché, I found one which ensured me this fantastic feeling when I get feedback on a scent.

It's already some time what I've heard about the collaboration of British brands Jo Malone together with world tailoring experts on Savile row, Huntsman. Everyone who saw Kingsman movie must be familiar with this tailor as all Kingsman organization, the famous store and clothes are in fact rebrand of Huntsman. The results of the collaboration were four scents which as they claim are "quintessentially British". However, I found out that the collection is available exclusively in Great Britain in stores of Jo Malone or Huntsman, and I sadly pushed my strong feelings to try them out back in my mind.

Nevertheless, thanks to some circumstances, I found myself heading to London back in September, where I immediately recognize in the Huntsman store - which I did must visit - unmistakable shape of the flacons. The collection itself has four scents, as mention earlier; however, only one was outstanding. Whisky & Cedarwood cologne was my chosen one, and I could not leave without it.

On the first sniff and with my eyes closed, I saw myself walking in a dinner jacket on the wooden floors of the palace, holding a glass of Champagne and sipping from Whiskey sour afterwards. I saw myself dancing till late night hours. At the same time, I could imagine being on the hunt in a heavy tweed suit with a rifle over my shoulder and filled flask in my chest pocket. In short, if perfectly cut British suit would have a fragrance, it would be this. I don't have to tell you how amazed I was. Whisky scent indeed became my favourite for the winter season and evenings all over the year. And with complimentary beautiful tweed pouch, I could not resist for one second more.

And between those mine words, you may find a piece of great advice when choosing a new fragrance for you. Take a spritz all over you and sniff it with your eyes closed. As scents should remind us of specific memories, fantasies or inspiration, it may be a good start. Just look at mine!

Now, I'd love to listen to your favourite fragrances. Have you recently found some outstanding fragrance? Or how often you hear compliments from the people on your scent?

Yours sincerely,

Denis
