A Sand Jacket

It seems that light coloured suits have a bit negative connotation in the Czech republic. I'm not sure why, but almost every time I see someone in a suit, he's wearing a darker shade. Yet, it's a convenient and great looking choice for warmer temperatures. And not only for them as you can have wool or a cashmere suit in the colour of light sand. We're still far behind Europe, where wearing sand or even white suits is undoubtedly more common.

But why I am writing this post. Some time ago, I got my sand cotton linen suit (post about it is here) for occasions in a warmer climate/temperature. And because I had anything like it in my closet so far. And ever since that time, I found out how unexpectedly versatile can such a suit be. Perhaps not worn together, but separately you'll find either jacket or trousers very useful.

Trousers are quite easy to wear, as sand coloured trousers you may wear with pretty much everything. Whatever polo, shirt, shoes, different jackets. You name it. That's why I'll focus on the jacket today and show you three ways - formal, smart and casual - how to wear this jacket. At the same time, I hope you'll find your way to wear it more often as you'll see it's nothing complicated and looks great. Plus, still, the fact that in summer it is much more convenient than a darker jacket.

The formal one is unquestionably not a top of the formality. But for business meetings and work is sufficient. White trousers are one of my favourite summer garments that I wear regularly. If you still have a fear of wearing them or you think it's not something for you, read this post. I wear it together with a white cotton shirt with purple stripes and my probably favourite Corneliani silk tie. I could show my love for purple on this one. And leather loafers will keep your feet well dressed and not too much warm.

Lately, I leave pocket squares at home when wearing a tie. Sometimes I have the feeling I need a pause from pocket squares, but that depends on my current mood. Usually, I try to wear it with a jacket when there is no tie.

The smart/classic outfit is something I'd say I would wear normally. So this is, for me, let's say a middle point, and under that, it's casual, and above that, it's more formal.

A new shirt, which I didn't show you before, is featuring cocktail cuffs. Burgundy chinos are another staple in my closet as they are also, very versatile in my opinion. To those two, my sand cotton linen jacket is a nice supplement, and this time, I opt for pocket square as well. I like this silk pink with paisley from a Czech brand Blazek, especially in summer.

The third option is not something I would wear often. It is perhaps the second or third time I wear a jacket with shorts. I wasn't much fond of this combination, but if I imagine sitting in a restaurant near the pool, somewhere in the Tuscany mountains in shorts. And at the same time, the evening cold suddenly surprises me; I think of such a jacket as a fine and stylish thing to wear. Besides, I think that many people can like this tip in summer.

Nevertheless, the outfit is complete with Tod's gommino moccasins and knitted t-shirt in grey cotton. Although many people are asking me why and how can I wear knits in the summer, as I surely must feel hot in it, the opposite is the truth. Knits are excellent things to wear in hot temperatures as cotton or silk-cotton knits are airy and cool in summer.

Yours Sincerely,

Denis
