My journey with Berwick boots began at Gentleman Store in Prague around 3–4 years ago. I had always admired the versatility of boots like these, seeing them paired so effortlessly by others. The brown grained leather shade I chose felt like a perfect fit—subtle yet striking. They’ve since become one of my most worn pieces, particularly in colder seasons, shining when paired with my winter coats or trusty Barbour jacket. Over time, I’ve come to appreciate their enduring style and adaptability.

The Boots That Adapt to Your Wardrobe
One of my favorite ways to wear these boots is with burgundy chinos. The earthy brown of the leather creates a balanced yet bold contrast with the deep red tones. They also pair exceptionally well with flannel trousers or jeans, making them a staple whether I’m dressing up or down. On brisk autumn days, they’ve become my go-to with quilted jackets or vests, and they hold their own with a classic flannel suit for a more refined look.
Styling-wise, the boots excel because of their country-inspired aesthetic. They carry a rugged charm without leaning too casual, making them versatile enough for smart-casual outings or even workwear. If I had to pick one look to highlight their potential, it would be pairing them with a waxed jacket, a knit sweater, and dark trousers—a quintessential "off-duty" ensemble that feels polished yet comfortable.
Comfort Through the Years
When I first bought these boots, comfort was a concern. My experience with Berwick loafers (with their leather soles) left me wary of a potentially painful break-in period. Thankfully, the Harrington boots proved me wrong. They’ve been comfortable right out of the box, with only a slight adjustment period each season’s first wear—usually solved by thicker socks.
Even after years of regular wear, they’ve held up admirably. The dainite sole still provides great traction, even on damp city streets, and the leather continues to age beautifully with minimal care. Cleaning and conditioning the leather, combined with occasional edge recoloring, is enough to keep them looking sharp.
A Strong Value Proposition
Berwick sits at an accessible price point, especially compared to similar brands in the menswear world. Morjas, Myrqvist, or Barker are in the same affordability bracket, but Berwick delivers a solid balance of style, comfort, and quality. Higher-end names like Crockett & Jones and Carmina might outperform in specific details, but for me, they enter the “investment” category. Berwick, by contrast, achieves an excellent price-to-performance ratio—boots you’ll wear for years without feeling like you splurged.
Final Thoughts
If you’re after a versatile, durable, and stylish pair of boots, Berwick is an excellent choice. Whether styled with a Barbour jacket or a tailored flannel suit, they seamlessly adapt to various outfits. Their rugged yet refined aesthetic ensures they’ll remain a cornerstone of your wardrobe for years to come. My model Harrington is probably not available anymore but I find these the closest. Basically country calf and color are either same or very similar, only without brogues.
